Rare Antique Vintage Old Wooden Irish Flute Wolf & Figg 8 Key Cocus

  
Up for sale from my collection is a rare 19th. Century 8 key Cocus flute, by Wolf & Figg. The flute has nickel silver keys and rings, and has medium-large tone holes, with a beautifully worked, crisp embouchure.

It's voice is confident and reedy, and it plays at A= 440Hz, with a slide extension of 10 mm, with good intonation and no flat foot. It should be mentioned that the ball end of the finial is missing.

There are two historic crack repairs to the barrel, (see photo 2) two fine, partial crack repairs to the head (clear of the embouchure), and historic crack and long F block repairs in the right hand section, all of which are sound and stable. (see photos 2 & 3) Every section is clearly stamped with the makers name and London, with the barrel additionally reading (Unicorn Head) WOLF & FIGG - 20. MARTIN'S LE GRAND - LONDON.

All keys are fully operational, including both low C keys, making this flute fully chromatic and session ready. I have attached a sound sample of this flute in action below.
