A stunning set of two very old Japanese imari bowls with unmarked bases. These were handprinted with vivid red and bright (cobalt-y) blue. Very colorful with almost no glaze loss. There is a small rim chip from each one.

Hard to see and find, but there. As you can see from the pics, this does not detract from the beauty. The unmarked Imari are considered way rarer and more valuable because they were not export porcelain.

These are exquisite and date from the late 1800's to early 1900's. They originally belonged to my great grandmother who went to Asia on steamboats every few years. No exaggeration - she really did! She was the ultimate dinnerware maven with unparalleled taste. These were passed down through the family and I inherited them. They are just gorgeous (but since I have a mid century house and too much MCM dinnerware already I have no room for these). These two bowls are the OLD IMARI. I see a lot of Imari for sale that is NOT that old.

This is the GOOD STUFF!! The dimensions of the larger bowl are.

Diameter at the top: 9 3/4. Diameter of the base: 3 3/4. The dimensions of the smaller bowl are. Diameter at the top: 7 3/8.

Diameter at the base: 3. Convo friendly - send me your questions!
