Dark and lighter Blue two tone paint. Canvas top and removable cover - very strong and durable canvas.
Removable canvas cover attaches and removes easy with chrome poppers. Removable mesh handle pouch for organizing baby items. Original handle in great condition. A very prestige and rare item.Original tires, chrome spokes and chrome hub covers. Excellent locking system, holds completely firm.
Tremendously smooth ride - really remarkable old world craftsmanship - remarkable really like a Cadillac. You'll push it for 6 inches and really be amazed, Overlapping wheels make it very easy to maneuver. Lay Baby flat, or sit up with back-rest adjustable to 3 positions of tilt.
Cushioned vinyl inside bottom and sides, hinged cushion mattress for backrest tilt, and satin comforter. Hood is easy to put up and works well. There are slight scratches in the dark blue paint on both the leading edge of the carriage body, as well as the forward curves of the undercarriage. As well, there is a single dent of approx 1 inch in size on the leading edge of the carriage body which I tried to mark with white arrows in one of the photos.
I also tried to point out some fraying of the corner edges on the canvas hood with white arrows. These are the only flaws I can see. I would very much like to see this beautiful heirloom piece perhaps go to loving Father or Grandfather who may have a bit of experience with auto body repair. It would take so little to perfect the paint and take out that little dent along the front edge. I would imagine an auto body shop would be delighted to have a project like this to work on. I would also imagine a young expectant mother, perhaps a daughter or grand-daughter with baby on the way, bursting into tears at the sight of this beautiful gift. Perhaps there are people out there who were themselves raised with one of these beautiful prams in their family. This would most likely be a Baby carriage to use around your home neighborhood (and maybe make the neighbors jealous just a bit), as opposed to putting it in your trunk for a trip to the store. Yet, I would admit that I have a van, and with nothing more than the hand brake on, and with no tying down at all, it never moves an inch and stays put without fuss. This evening, when I rolled this Baby Carriage up to the park to take photos of it, I was stopped 3 times by people wanting to look at it - and I only live two houses from the park! One lady said it looked like a piece of jewelry. But I understand that most people look at the price of the item new, cut it in half, minus a little. Again, I hope this Swan Baby Carriage finds it's way to a loving family who's proud to show it off, and never sells it again. And I hope it sees a lot of proud Moms and sleeping Babies.
